I have called this meeting to discuss recent events that need investigating. Let me review the last month, and, in particular, this weekend. You are all aware of the recent outbreak of violence and disobedience by krill androids dressed as troopers and, against regulations, raised and encouraged by certain Polis officers, that led to bloodshed and threatened to take us back to the human/robot disturbances which resulted in the writing of the Concordat. All is calm now. The officers concerned are all in custody. The Krill Troopers were either destroyed during the violence or deactivated and returned to store for deactivation. But one small group, which had surrendered, were not deactivated. You all know Citizen James Street, usually known as "Mr James", a human who has been taking robots and androids, referred to as 'rescue androids' into his care while turning his home into a Rescue Centre for non-human units. One group of a dozen Krills surrendered to Mr James. Of these six were turned in to the authorities by a Klank robot of Mr James staff. Mr James himself had thought of keeping one as a servant, but changed his mind and handed that Krill over as well. You will also be aware of a certain notorious Chomper unit, also on Mr James staff, who has a rather long record of taking very very independant action - that tall cabinet of drawers in the corner is almost full of records pertaining to his history. He has been accused of many acts that break the law, but has never been caught 'in the act'. This Chomper decided to sell the last 5 Troopers as domestic servants. For which we would be fully justified in arresting him - at last! - but the two he actually sold and the three remaining Troopers have since vanished. Now let me turn to the most recent of the many disturbing events. Early last week Constable Hathaway of the local Police was found murdered in the Old Forest, having been killed in town and dumped in the forest near The Shadowgate, a security sensitive area, normally watched over by the Wizards. The Wizards are away off planet for their four-yearly conference. I have sent security troops to the area to watch for any suspicious actions. So it is possible that one of the missing three Troopers killed the constable. The Chomper suggested that a deactivated Krill from the Central Stores might be sent to Planet Robotika for a thorough examination, to see if there were any faults that might have been missed during their construction. It was agreed to give him a permit to collect a Krill and take it to the Travel Centre for despatch on the first flight - 8am last Sunday. "Excuse me, Commissioner - but why are we trusting this unreliable Chomper?" A good point Constable Morse. It was a suggestion by the Ministry's Personnel Officer - to give Chomper a chance to start 'redeeming' himself by doing something positive and useful - was that you sniggering, Lewis? To resume: Chomper handed over the relevant documents and the Krill. One of the guards escorts the Krill to the Waiting Centre. Chomper then left the Centre and was not seen again till that afternoon, when Police Sergeant Dixon reported seeing him and friends driving off for an excursion. In the next image you see an android Security Officer handing over a Krill civilian at the gates. This Krill is also escorted to the Waiting Centre. "Excuse me, Commissioner - that Security Officer is not a regulation model. The one in the picture is actually another Krill, but illegally, dressed in Security uniform." Correct, Constable Holmes. Thank you. The human Guards were relieved at noon for a lunch-break. Two android Guards took over from them. Their distinctive faces, also designed by local children, can be seen in the next image. The Guards did not return from lunch on time. By two o'clock two android guards were sent out looking for them. They eventually found the bodies of the missing human guards in a local alehouse; they had been murdered in a similar fashion as constable Hathaway. We have to assume that the non-standard guard is one of the three Rebel Troopers. Travel records show that one Krill passenger boarded the flight to Robotika. There is no trace of the other one. Oh, and one other item. The Central Library has reported one of its androids - an older model krill - had not reported for work this morning; last seen locking up Saturday evening. All other working krill androids are being checked and listed. I will leave these facts with you, and give you time to put forward any thoughts on the subject. Meeting adjourned until tomorrow at ten.
