Description
Have NO idea what it is for but it looked interesting so I snapped a photo of it. If anyone has an explanation feel free to drop it in the comments!

I'll hazard a guess. Hard to tell for this angle, but that second smaller disc looks like it might be a survey marker, the sunlight's sheen hints it might be brass, and there could be markings on the surface, but not visible from this angle. Now Municipalities do core drillings down into the substrate of the soil and bedrock to see the historical composition of the sediments, and when complete, those core holes need to be covered and protected with a bolted disc.

Wow. That's amazing. Not sure if that is that or not but that's a very cool observation and that's amazing facts about how core drilling work that I did not know so thank you for sharing :)
