Description

This design was greatly influenced by the tropical planet in Rogue One. I wanted to create the tropical beaches with palm trees and golden sand with an unknown installation. I needed a good layout to start the kit bash construction of the buildings and this is loosely based on the layout of Moonbase Alpha from Space 1999. This features the central area with long arms out to the landing areas. I kit bashed all of the buildings, landing areas and the main tower as well as the waterfall inner area. As it was a Star Wars homage I had to drop in an Imperial Shuttle and a couple of At-Ats. The At-Ats are mostly hidden by the trees but they are there protecting the main installation from pesky Rebel attacks. Created in 3DS Max with Forest Pack and rendered in V-Ray at 4k. Looking forward to VRay 6 with it’s procedural clouds and might revisit this scene and update the clouds and the HDRI didn’t quite work for what I intended the sky to look
