Actually our sun does not have the mass to become a nova let alone a super nova but as the hydrogen fuel is expended the force which pushes out from the center will diminish and internal pressure will increase till helium fusion begins creating a great deal more force pushing out on the interior of the sun and expanding it to several times its normal size. And yes this ball of mud we presently sit on will be incinerated.

Yes, it wont be a supernova, but fusion will push out its interor layers making it a massive fire ball which will fry solar system planets including earth and mankind (if there is any human being left on earth...which i dont think there will be)
