Description
I ran across my 4th grade reader, “Singing Wheels,” about a pioneer family. One of my favorite parts was the time that the blacksmith was coaching young Tom Hastings for the spelling bee. He told Tom to remember that there’s “a rat” in “separate,” which many people misspell. You can probably guess how the rest of the story went. Anyhow, this prompted me to do this picture.
