Description

Something new. Finnish folklore and mythology forests and everything in them belong to The King of Forests, god of forests called Tapio. He is described to be shapeshifter who can transform into animals, insects, birds, plants etc, be invisible and be everywhere at once watching over his kingdom. Feared and respected deity at dawn of Finns. He was said to have fiery temper and wife, a forest deity called Mielikki who was match for him and to his temper. They had three daughters and son. Am working something atm which required some character concepts and planning. I have had fun learning about old culture, folklore, myths and beliefs and if you ask me Finnish folklore and beliefs could use American Gods treatment. I tried to bring out forest spirits aspects. I doodled the original sketch with highlighters and gel ink pen and to me it's all the colors it needs. Only downside is that dark bony thrown crown isn't really showing too well but didn't have no pen as such with me that had done highlighting part nicely. It is there though. I kinda hope that I would be able to sketch out other characters from our folklore too and study it some more.
