Description
"Cute trinket. What is it?"
"It's a locator, one of several such devices I know of. This one points to a ruby called the Star of Hugaldah."
"That's just a legend."
"And yet the locator has found it."
"So why are you showing it to me?"
"Because I need a ship. The ruby is only a small part of the lost treasure of Captain Marcel, or so the legend says. If you help my associate and I recover the ruby and return safely here, the rest of the treasure is yours and your crew's."
"Intriguing, but haven't you heard? Everybody says I'm a pirate. If we find this treasure, how do you know I won't just maroon you and your associate and take it all?"
"I've made some inquiries. Even your enemies admit that you keep to your word, once you've given it."
"All right. I'll consider it. When were you thinking of leaving?"
"I can be ready by sunrise tomorrow. Will you give your word to transport us safely to the treasure and back to this place, and to leave us the ruby, if we find it, as our share?"
"Provided you and your associate don't betray me or my crew, I'll give my word on that."
"In that case, we'll see you before dawn tomorrow."
