He had red eyes hadn't he? :) But impressive work! Red would just look a bit more evil.

maybe in the film yes, but im using the book as my guide. his eyes are yellow to match the flames, as he is defined by shadow and flame. red would not suite his demonic persona.

Hey dude Fisrt concentrate on the model, noton the effects because there are way to much effects. And the model could useanother 10 hours of work to make it realistic looking. Greetz Max4d

there arent that many FX in place here, and this was just a sample test of the fire. and how do you mean make it look more realistic? this is just the head, i am now working on the body and wings, and if you didnt realise its WIP so the head wont finally look like that, i change things quite a lot after leaving them for a day and looking back at them. in the final picture you wont see much of the model anyhow because the balrog if a creature made from the shadows, and will use the fire to outline him. so infact the model could be total balls, its the FX that make it work. you need to elaborate on your comment, because you make no sense.

Since this is a WIP, could we see just an untextured head? I find it a little difficult to see the facial features of the head and I want to give you some feedback. The flames look good, but the volumetric light doesn't cut it yet. Good job so far though.
