Description

A character that I am working on sitting on top of Blender's asset browser, which contains preset materials for her. Including Blender native shaders for a DAZ character would be pretty beneficial. Automatic imports don't always get things right and hardly take advantage of what you can fully do with the node editor. While the Asset browser doesn't really give you the same functionality DAZ Studio's library has, it does help organize presets faster, link and unlink various libraries and drag and drop stuff into your scene and into your material list.

Just stunning always look forward to seeing your artwork... top work on the character, the purple hair adds some extra to the cute factor 😄

Thank you! The hair is using Blender's particle hair system; it was fun styling it. I have worked with the asset browser before. It looks like a DAZ/Poser type of library at first sight, but there are some things you have to know. On the other hand, you can install a new HDRI environment by just dragging it into the scene.

LOL! She's so cute, she looks like one of the lemmings from that 90's game. You need another lemming with the same style hair but green, holding up an umbrella, landing next to her. Purple and teal green go along very well for makeup options, BTW. Once I tried to convert particle hair into a geometry file... an OBJ file, I was just learning what particle hair is LOL! Have a great weekend, my friend!

Hi, very nice figure :) Blender is a great free rendering solution (and fast render engine). I've tried them one or two times. The biggest problem is simply the poses, which cannot be imported easily (perhaps as FBX) or with a lot of detours. Almost unrivaled for account creation because it is open source...

There are bridges and plug-ins like Diffeomorphic to take care of that ( nothing takes care of it 100%). While some people might look down to DAZ Studio or Poser these programs have functionality that is pretty hard to replicate in more general software. I can dial a morph to change Genesis's shape in Blender, but I will have to adjust the rigging myself. The asset browser and other little things do help to support some stuff.

Thank you! Blender sure takes time to learn. But once you get a handle on some of it, it is a lot of fun.

Very cool work here with Blender! I've seen folks do some amazing things with it! One of my buds here, Chris Cox, streams on Twitch frequently and does a lot of Blender stuff.

Love your little lady here!
