Description
It had taken all her strength, combined with what little he had left to move him back into the ship.
He looked up weakly from where he now lay. She had tried to stop the flow of blood from his wound, which he chuckled at.
He raised his left hand and pointed to the back of the ship.
"All you will need is located in those storage cabinets."
"No." She murmured weakly. "We will get through this together. You have to hang on. We can wait here for Navarre to arrive."
"They will soon discover our absence." He looked up into her eyes. "Heed what I say, Little Dancer. Do not argue."
She lowered her head, conceding to his wishes.
"Walk with the sun to your back. Keep moving; by night have shelter. Too dangerous in the dark here. Conserve what you have." He smiled. "Your Navarre will find you."
"Us." She pleaded. "He will find us." She then glanced up. Her heart sank. His head had fallen to the side as he right hand dropped slowly to the floor.
"And they shall sing songs of your bravery and honor this day." Her voice quivered.
