The Admiral sat silently in the conference hall. How many times had she gone down this path? Meeting with those who promised to aid them in the plight, only to either perish in that endeavor, or to betray their trust. As much as she relished the thought of seeing her daughters return, she had to place the safety and well being of the fleet first. She felt completely exhausted and drained from the constant worry and ever planning. Praying for the day when her people were somewhere safe; then perhaps she herself could get a restful night of sleep and relaxation herself. She could only believe that her predecessors felt and thought the same way, only to give their lives in that pursuit. With every contact, she feared she would make the mistake that caused the extinction of their people. There were already so few of them left; it was a constant worry on her shoulders.
