The object looks like a variation of the "Arc Sphere* from Structure Synth. Very nicely presented in this space scene.

I am trying to work out how to use Structure Synth by changing parameters in the examples. You are correct about this being a variation of the Arc Sphere. My trouble is that my old brain does not seem to want to learn anything new these days. :D
