Description

This is my third eclipse. I tried to photograph the total eclipse over Jefferson County, Missouri in 2017 and only got one useable photo. Same thing happened last October in 2023 of the partial that skimmed by east Texas. The Houston area was close to total, but not quite at 94% on April 8, 2024. My guess is that I took this five minutes or so before 94%. To top it off the sky was cloudy and threatening rain. Mr. Sun peaked out of the clouds a couple of times and this is the best I could do with my little Nikon Coolpix. The photo was taken without a filter as I couldn't see anything on the camera screen with a filter.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon completely covers the Sun, fnf casting a shadow on Earth and turning day into night for a brief period.
