One of several poses taken for the back cover of my book. 'Tis me and Ivan, my 12.5 year old cat. Isn't he gorgeous!? He just HAD to get in on the photoshoot, I can't go anywhere in the house without him. He's my angel and erzatz muse (Just don't tell Clio!)
*Update* Unfortunately, this gorgeous creature has left my life forever. He died in my arms August 2009 after a prolonged illness that took his weight from 18lbs to 8. He is dearly missed.
BIO
My newest novel, The Speaker, is now available from DDP! Love in Ruins and Mercy's Ransom are still available as ebook DDP Fictionwise.com and Amazon.com ; so help me out and buy a copy so they'll want the second books in the series that I'm currently working on. And if it seems like my poser art is improving... let me tell you... it IS the size of your equipment! (New (read: borrowed) machine with much more RAM than mine!) I've been drawing for decades (won't tell how many;), then was introduced to Poser. I fell in love in an instant, not only for the myriad backgrounds it allows me to provide which were ALWAYS the bane of my talent, but to provide realistic poses to draw from when I feel like picking up a pencil! I think I'm finally getting better!

Sorry. I think, he will be restored to life in your Poser.

I am sorry to hear your loss. It is a very moving picture.

Thank you, for both your comments and condolences. I know it is intimidating to even think about critiquing such a personal image, but... I would appreciate any tips on how to intensify my intent. I had it, just how I wanted it, and lost it. Starting over it never got quite... you know, and I'm not a photoshop adept.

i'm really sorry to hear about your brother, it must have cost you a lot. since you asked for critique, even though i hate to make it, you could make the angell image more transluscent, to give it a more, faded look. it's really nice though, very special

Don't know what to say, there's nothing one can say that can be adequate to such a loss. I only wanted you to know I was here.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss! I think this image is very emotional, and touching, as is the story behind it! As for critiqueing...I don't use photoshop, I use PSP. However, I do believe the photoshop also has a softening brush. On the outer edges, where you have his image smudged just a bit, I would soften it. I agree with the idea of making him a bit more translucent, however at the same time, you want to see him clearly. So I guess all in all, its what pleases you, and appeals to you. Its a wonderful image and dedication as it is!
