Its close: Mountain Cornflower (Centaurea montana) that ist invasive to NAm from Europe. If all "Invasions" would be that nice ... :)

True enough, I do see a fair few of them around, but they're not as spread as Himalayan blackberry. That stuff is crowding out everything.
