Yes! I wonder if they get bugs out of it like on the trees or just like to make the noise :)

Nice photo. I probably wouldn't have recognized him as a wood pecker. I thought they had red crowns. Maybe just certain ones?

He does have a red crown just hard to see in this shot with his head turned :) I think you can just see a sliver of red though
