these are very haunting and beautiful. Again, you have 7 variation-images, and one final different image. The 7 are with a woman who appears straight out of a renaissance painting---Botticelli, among others---with a pure renaissance face. But she's broken up by vines and leaves...and the effect is of beautiful porcelain, even wedgewood, broken up by nature. Like cracked pottery. It's beautifully conceived---I would need a long time to get this in any ai program.
The backgrounds also feel like they're from the renaissance. It gives these 'shattered portraits' a feeling of classical grace, even of antiquity. In the last of the 7, the woman's face is almost cracked in half---we expect her to turn into dust soon. Very powerful work. Broken souls, shattered souls, cracked into pieces as if someone accidentally struck pure and precious ceramics...
The final one is a sudden elf-like woman, with deep greens and sepia browns (in the background). Her face is much more animal-like than in the 'renaissance woman'. And her clothes seem made of glazed porcelain. Her face is forlorn, ending this series of "broken souls" with a question to all of us. I don't know if this is inspired by the horrors of our time, but it brings them to mind, all the same. Very sensitive and poignant work, Ute.
