Very interesting Information of a progressive Culture! The Jōmon seem to be the Ancestors of around 30 Percent of todays Japanese People? But the Reason for the Decline of their Culture seems not to be clear?

Thanks for your comments. I think climate change was the cause of the Jomon period's demise. The Jomon period occurred after the hyperwarming that followed the last ice age. After that, major cooling and warming occurred repeatedly over several thousand years. It is possible that the people could not withstand the second major cooling. In the end, the Jomon people took measures such as creating large-scale chestnut plantations, but they could not endure. They were a peaceful people, so they did not fight wars over food for 10,000 years. I think the Jomon civilization was destroyed due to global cooling.

Very strange they made a living by Chestnut, ´cus our chestnuts here are poisenous! But very intelligent! But at last - though tragic - many of them survived and started anew! Thats seems to be, what counts! :)
