Description

There has been an awakening. Have you felt it? Date Published: July 16, 2024 Tools Utilized: Poser 13, Photoshop, Lightroom I have an official “The Force Awakens” poster in my bedroom as part of my pop culture poster collection in there. I’ve been wanting to create my own version of it for some time now. Well, I finally did it! I did make some changes though. The poster has Rey mostly in shadow and shows X-Wings in the sky above her for some reason. I think the Falcon and some TIEs makes a little more sense. What do you think of her footprints in the sand? I guess I could have done that in the render with some precise use of the morph tools but instead I just painted that effect in postwork along with adding some sand particles to her boots and BB-8’s lower body. I had trouble with posing her skirt pieces in my earlier versions of this artwork. Thank you, Verica, for helping me make it better for this final version.

I really like your version of this, Lizzie! Rey looks great and ready for action, and the addition of the Falcon and T.I.E. fighters fits perfectly.

Draping clothing can be a major-league PITA, but you did a great job here. I'm pretty sure you composited Rey and BB onto the BG (i.e. they were on their own layer) - I've used the "liquefy" filter in PS a number of times for flowing drapery / clothing. It's pretty effective when used very subtly.

Really nice job on the sandy surface and footprints - and the sand on her boots!

No composites. That's a fully rendered scene from Rey all the way back to the ships and sky. The depth of field really makes her stand out. The only layers added were the footprints and the sand particles. :) I never thought of using the liquify tool for flowy clothing! I'll have to try that out next time. :D In this case I used the morph tools inside Poser 13 and added some translucency to the skirt pieces' material shader.

Thank you for the compliments too! <3 I worked really hard on those footprints so it's great to hear I did them right.
