Ship's surrogate quivered briefly and then became motionless, frozen in place. Seeing this, Starbelle turned to flee as the intruder stepped around the frozen surrogate and gestured at the fleeing girl. The gesture produced a brilliant spark that struck Starbelle about the head and shoulders. She found herself unable to think clearly and her flight slowed to a stop. The character of young Starbelle is based on La Femme. Ship's surrogate and the alien intruder are based upon V4. The setting is by Vanishing Point.
