Description
This is a test, folks. And only a test.
The Poser 5 Cloth Room had me stumped for awhile. I don't really like to read manuals--it's more exciting for me to get in there and dig and see what happens. I couldn't make any progress that way, however, and unfortunately the Cloth Room section of the P5 manual read like Greek. I tried to read it two or three times and gave up.
Finally, I hit the web searching out a tutorial on this. I found one by BloodSong and it was excellent. If anyone else is having the same problem with the explanation in the P5 manual, I suggest going here: http://www.3dmenagerie.com/goodies/tut/qcloth.htm
Once I understood the basic method of clothifying a figure, I added a force field (a wind machine in my mind) to make the cloth blow backward in the wind.
1) Shows the cloth without texture, rendered in P5
2 and 3) Shows the cloth with 3D textures rendered in P5 (note: these are NOT image maps).
4) Shows the exported figure and cloth as rendered in Bryce 5. I was glad to see you could actually export the cloth as an .obj, as opposed to P5 hair which is useless because it's only usable within Poser--you can't export it.
If anyone else knows of another tutorial on the Cloth Room, or knows of a good image using a P5 cloth, please point me in the right direction. I'm interested in seeing who's made a decent image using this feature.
Thanks, BloodSong!

Only the fourth image is Bryce--the first three are Poser 5. These are just tests, so I slapped in a Bryce render to show everyone you can export the cloth created in the P5 Cloth Room.

That's pretty neat. I have Poser 4 - this makes me want to do the upgrade to Poser 5

Thank goodness Poser 5 has this feature. Iv'e hated poser clothes since Poser 2. This feature will hopefully solve all the annoyances that came with Poser 4.
