Well done! I've found that lighting can add drama to a render. In this one, I would try 2 spots. One focused from the back, perhaps red or blue, for some backlighting. The other, I would have in front and to the character's left or right at about 80-90% intensity.

improved already...I'm impressed. Listen to Pablo: lighting is crucial to artistic imagery. Next step...add expression.
