PS: I was asked about the fact that one of the astronauts (towards the end of the series) is wearing a helmet that is not hermetically sealed and should therefore actually suffocate.
Well, this series is intended as a chronological progression from an initially lifeless planet without breathable air to a planet that has been modified by geo-engineering and can be settled with its own flora. My astronaut is there at a time when there was already enough oxygen in the lowlands to be able to breathe without aids for at least a limited time - at least that's my idea of it!
