Hello Rendosians !
Before Back To School day, I wanted to share with you this beautiful panorama of the River Arno and its bridges, in Florence, Italy.
The most famous and touristic one is the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in the foreground.
It was buit in the 14th century and hosted butchers first but the fetid smell of decaying carcasses was unpleasant for Ferdinando I de' Medici who lived not far, in the Palazzo Vecchio. Thus he decided that the bridge would host jewellers. What a clever man ! (LOL !)
Nowadays, it is still a place for buying high quality jewels : the law hasn't change since Ferndinando I.
If you observe carefuly the Ponte Vecchio you can notice a corridor at the top of the the jewelleries : it is the famous Vasari Corridor that permitted the Medicis family to go safely from the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti : the streets of Florence were unsafe at those times, especially for wealthy and powerful people such as the Medicis.

Ta photo est magnifique, très pro, comme d'habitude. Quant au pont, j'en ai un souvenir mitigé : il est superbe et chargé d'histore mais nous l'avons traversé dans une mer de touristes nous empêchant d'aller voir les bijouteries sur les bords...nous avons donc fait comme vous, nous sommes allés le voir de plus loin, de plus haut ! Y a-t-il un jour où l'on peut visiter Florence tranquillement ? Pas étonnant que les habitants en aient assez des hordes de touristes !

Hélas Florence est tellement belle qu'elle devient victime de son succès. JP a entendu que l'Italie a l'intention de prendre des mesures pour éviter le surtourisme parmis lesquelles interdire les groupes au-delà d'un certain nombre de personnes, interdire les Air B&B et augmenter la taxe de séjour...

Bravo à la photographe pour cette superbe prise de vue de Florence que j’apprécie pour sa richesse en œuvres d’art et son architecture dont ce très beau Ponte Vecchio. J’admire cette très belle photo aussi pour les reflets du pont dans les eaux de l’Arno… j’y suis allée mais hors saison donc moins de monde !

Encore une photo d'exception pour cette vue sur le Ponte Vecchio qui en dit long sur le passé prestigieux de ce bastion et chasse gardée des Médicis. Bravo pour le cadrage, le point de vue et la lumière de ta photo, du travail de pro ! Je pense aussi que ces sites attirent des cohortes de touristes qu'on devine à peine ici, et comme à Venise ou ailleurs, il est grand temps d'encadrer le tourisme de masse, au risque de voir ces merveilles de construction lentement mais sûrement abîmées au fil du temps. Bonne rentrée des classes, et encore félicitations pour cette fabuleuse photo! Que nos adorables petites têtes blondes et autres enfants-rois ne t'empêchent pas d'envisager la suite de cette série italienne magnifique ...!
