Decades ago, when I was a kid, I was told about an old European superstition: If you wear you clothes inside-out or backwards, witches would come and get you.
Imagine 15 year old me deliberately turning my shirt inside-out and walking around that way. Y'see, the new world witches we have over here aren't the old crones from the old country. Think Samantha Stevens, Willow from Buffy, the Charmed TV show, and teeny goths running around (even back then).
