Description
~Batgirl IV~
The 1967 creation of Batgirl in the Adam West Batman TV series was a direct response to fan demand for a female superhero. The character was introduced at the suggestion of Bill Finger, a Batman co-creator, who saw the potential for a strong female character to appeal to a wider audience. Batgirl's introduction coincided with the rise of the 1960s feminist movement, and her character was seen as a symbol of female empowerment. Her presence helped increasing the show's popularity and served as an inspiration for the female public, offering them a strong and capable female role model.
However, the 2011 DC Comics reboot of Batgirl's decided she is now an old lady in a wheelchair, drawing criticism for reinforcing the false narrative that women cannot be intelligent and powerful while also being sexy and beautiful. Why not leaving her alone and just make a new character who is an old intelligent lady on a wheelchair? My bet is that modern feminism condemns female beauty, which would explain a lot of what we see in modern videogames with female protagonists, where ugliness is a virtue. That was Batgirl's demise.

a lovely commissioner Gordon's daughter

Thank you! If Gordon only knew what his daughter did at night... 😁

I always found Batgirl interesting, because she was trying to do what Batman did, without Bruce Wayne's wealth. Neat trick, that.

Indeed, her character was created by popular demand, and she made the show even more popular. They tried to cast the great Yvonne Craig for the role, but her schedule was already full. Nonetheless, Yvonne still played the Batgirl later on, and it was a blast! ^^

Despite her "six-pack" of muscles she is a beautiful girl. ... and because of that former discussion: This outfit is better with belt. LOL

Thank you! I gave her a six-pack because of the 2nd paragraph in the image description. ^^
