Description
After William Ely Hill
The overly acidulous colors of the place made her a little uncomfortable, she imagined herself in one of those fashion Kodachromes from the 50s. "What you shouldn't do to be beautiful! And it would only be the first night after this first day of the rest of my life, she said to herself. She glanced over the different pictures that served as decoration in the hair salon and began to feel oppressed, her head caught in the vice of the curlers tightened by the heat of the dryer, the lump in her stomach compressed by her tight corset. The shadow of the dryer formed exactly the specter of what she imagined of this terrible night to come, the red varnish on her nails became so many tears of blood. While everyone was rejoicing for her and giggling, she would have liked to stay safe in this place reserved for women.
