Description
Hello Rendosians !
Two weeks ago, I visited the beautiful village of Meisenthal (Moselle, France). This village is famous for the production of cristal glasses and objects until 1950.
They collaborated with the designer Emile Gallé between 1867 and 1894 and this vase is a perfect example of Art Nouveau.
In those times, Europe was fascinated with the japanese culture and asian patterns, such as this marvellous carp, decorated vases or another beautiful artworks.
Only six " Vases à la carpe" exist in the world and one is hosted in the Museum of Meisenthal (Centre International des Arts Verriers). Each one is slightly different but all are very beautiful. This one was displayed for an exhibition, two weeks ago.
Nowadays, the site of Meisenthal still perpetuates the tradition of Cristal fabrication with his museum but also with the production of delicate Christmas balls.
Every year they have great success in Christmas Markets and my favorite one is named Piaf (a french nickname for birdies)
Thank you for your kind comments and your support !
Have a great day / evening / night !
Virginie
