Description
Navarre had just settled in his chair, When Dallu reported from her corner console.
"Incoming signal from the Command Cruiser SafeGuard, Captain."
"Figured as much." Navarre grinned. "Okay. On screen."
The main view screen switched from the view of the nebula ahead to that of the command deck.
"Captain." Navarre greeted her with a nod of his head.
"Captain." She responded in kind, though with no polite gestures, but rather an icy stare. "I gather there is a reason for our current heading. I have been order to get a status update and your proposed flight plan at this time."
"Straight in, Captain." Navarre rose slowly from his chair and stood facing her, as though on equal terms."
"Such a heading puts the fleet in a rather dangerous predicament. As I assume you are aware of."
"To the contrary." Navarre chuckled lightly. "I have fleet safety at my utmost concern. Follow my lead and instructions and all will emerge intact and unaffected."
"Through a fire nebula unscathed?" She displayed her doubt in his confidence.
"Unscathed." Navarre nodded while maintaining a confident smile. "All vessels will match my exact course, single file formation. Each vessel will maintain visual on the vessel ahead."
"Sensor effects I would assume." She guessed.
"Sensor blind." Navarre acknowledged. "So we had prefer no vessels got lost in there. Just stay slow and close and there will no danger."
"As per my orders, Captain." She scowled. "But I strongly disapprove of this flight plan."
"Then just follow your orders, Captain. We make Nebula contact in ten minutes." He glanced towards Dallu. "Cut communications."
