The war horses in the Middle Ages were of a completely different caliber to ours today! Heavier, more robust, more resilient, more enduring. Bred accordingly to be able to bear such heavy loads.

Like I am going to have say this sorry if this offends anyone who likes him I have always felt so sorry for the poor horse that had to carry Big John he was a big man and I am sure he would have hit the scales and bend that fine neddle but he was and his films still are what we all call a Cowboy
