Description
Between the inner Planets (Mars, Earth, Venus) of our Solarsystem and the outer ones lies a belt of irregular formed broken Material, called the "Asteroid-Belt". Where it derives from is uunkown, may it be the Remnants of a shattered Planet or Excess-Material from the forming of the Rings of Saturn.
In there a permanent Process of grinding Collisions and Shattering goes on. Luckily, Earth is beyond this Belt and well-protected by the massive Gravitation of Jupiter, which keeps the Belt away from us. But few of these Objects have eccentric Orbits, that can cross the Way of the Earth. 2023 the Tscheljabinsk-Bolide destroyed 3000 Homes and injured 1700 People. Despite of that we live in a relative quiet Part of the Universe, otherwise Live would never have existed!

Have a wonderful Day and make a wish, that the Cosmos never find us worthy to share the Fate of the Dinosaurs! :)
I recently noticed, that Kharnes did this before and much more impressive:

:D Thank You, Mona! Yes that Band of always colliding Rocks is no Place for Humans, but good News: Jupiter keeps us safe from them, we dont have to muddle through!! ;)
Danke Dir Mona! Ja, dieses Band aus ständig kollidierenden Felsen ist kein Ort für Menschen, aber die gute Nachricht: Jupiter schützt uns vor ihnen, wir müssen da nicht durchwursteln! :)

Wonderful work!

Thank You, Starship, it was a "stony Path"! ;)
Staticon
Nice image. I believe that the asteroid belt is not quite as dense as the image implies but, for artistic representation, it looks great. Nice work as always. :-)

Of course Youre right, but the with real Distances it would have looked boring! Lets classify this as "artistic Freedom"! ;)

Definitely thankful for big ol' Jupiter keeping this mess in check! We did manage to grab a sample of one of those rare ones that slip by Earth now and then.
Fantastic work on this view of the belt!
