Description
As the tumultuous period in American history unfolded from January 2021 onward, the country bore witness to a seismic shift in leadership. The Biden/Harris administration, born from a coalition of hope and resilience, commenced its tenure during a time when the nation grappled with the aftermath of a pandemic, deep-seated social inequalities, and the pressing urgency of climate change. With a steadfast commitment to unity and progress, the administration anchored itself in a series of impactful accomplishments that would ultimately set a new precedent in the realm of American governance.
Laying the Groundwork: COVID-19 Relief
One of the first and perhaps most pivotal actions taken by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris was the swift response to the COVID-19 pandemic through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This landmark legislation, valued at $1.9 trillion, aimed to revive the economy and provide relief to families across the nation suffering the invisible scars brought about by the virus's relentless grip. The plan included direct payments to Americans, funds for vaccine distribution, extended unemployment benefits, and significant funding for public schools, local governments, and small businesses. This comprehensive response underscored their belief that economic recovery must be inclusive, laying a foundation for a more equitable future.
Rebuilding the Economy: Infrastructure and Jobs
Riding the wave of recovery, the Biden administration shifted its focus towards an infrastructure bill that would rejuvenate America. In November 2021, Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, infusing $1.2 trillion into repairing and upgrading the nation’s crumbling roads, bridges, and public transit systems. This monumental act focused not only on physical infrastructure but also prioritized broadband expansion to ensure all Americans had access to high-speed internet. The bill anticipated the creation of millions of jobs in construction, engineering, and technology—an essential goal that resonated deeply with the American workforce.
Climate Initiatives: Forward-Thinking Policies
Recognizing the urgency of climate action, the Biden/Harris administration re-entered the Paris Agreement, a decisive move that signaled America's commitment to global climate objectives. This decision was just the beginning; the administration also introduced ambitious climate goals, including a pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52% by 2030. The focus shifted toward clean energy investments and the transition to electric vehicles through various incentives, establishing the foundations for a sustainable future. One of the noteworthy initiatives was the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better plan, which sought to further fortify these objectives, providing tax credits for renewable energy sources and promoting electric vehicle usage. The Chips and Science Acts will make America less dependent on foreign sources, given the present threat to Taiwan. New manufacturing, technology, and jobs.
Social Justice: Advancing Equality
Social Justice stood at the forefront of the Biden/Harris agenda. The administration pushed forward various reforms to address systemic inequalities. Efforts included the Gender Equity Initiative and reinstating the DREAM Act, demonstrating a commitment to protect the rights of immigrants and marginalized communities. A historic Executive Order on Racial Equity was signed to confront discrimination in federal programs—an act that resonated deeply within communities yearning for acknowledgment and change. Additionally, the administration increased support for mental health services, reflecting a broader understanding of wellness in personal, social, and communal contexts.
Health Care: Expanding Access
Amid ongoing debates surrounding health care, the Biden administration undertook significant measures to expand access to affordable health care. The American Rescue Plan dramatically reduced premiums for over 20 million Americans through the Affordable Care Act, extending coverage and making strides toward universal healthcare. This expanded network highlighted a government committed to prioritizing health over profit, a seeming anomaly in contemporary politics, yet a reflection of the administration’s core values. The President’s lower cost prescription drug law continues to put money back in the pockets of seniors and people with disabilities.
Foreign Relations: Diplomacy and Strategic Alliances
On the international front, Biden and Harris redirected American foreign policy towards one rooted in diplomacy and collaboration. They sought to revitalize alliances and build stronger global coalitions, particularly in the wake of the discord witnessed in the preceding years. The administration focused on international partnerships through platforms like the Quad and enhanced ties to NATO, addressing global challenges, from cyber threats to combating authoritarianism.
Moreover, the administration showcased a renewed commitment to humanitarian efforts, providing aid to countries in distress and resettling Afghan refugees following the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Embracing Innovation: Technology and Cybersecurity
With technology anchoring the future, the administration prioritized advancements in cybersecurity, illustrating an understanding of modern vulnerabilities. The Cybersecurity Executive Order aimed to bolster defenses against increasing cyber threats—a response not just to adversarial nations but to the growing necessity of securing personal and national data in an increasingly digital world.
A Stronger Economy and Growing Workforce
The new administration will be inheriting a strong economy; The US is currently number one in GDP and growth; the envy of the world. The Stock Market had been breaking records all year long, 50% higher than the previous administration. The economy has created more than 16 million jobs overall, and an increase of 227,000 jobs in November. Unemployment has been the lowest on average of any administration in 50 years.
Conclusion: A Legacy of Change
As the curtains rise on the years following the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, their administration stands as a testament to comprehensive change through hard-fought accomplishments. Each initiative was underscored by a narrative of resilience and inclusivity, highlighting a collective desire to build towards a future reflective of American values—unity, opportunity, and freedom from fear and want.
While the path ahead remains fraught with challenges, the legacy of the Biden/Harris administration is woven into the fabric of American history, characterized by their resolve to tackle pressing issues head-on and pave the way for generations to come.

Thank you for this detailed list! In the midst of this MAGA hysteria, many people forget what they owe to this president and his vice president! Unfortunately, the perception of this policy has been greatly distorted by an opposing candidate who relied more on personal denigration and lies and was unfortunately (!) able to score points with voters with this! Normally, as a European, I would not care what happens in the USA and I would not actually be in a position to criticize the election of this presidential actor, but the mere fact that the foreign policy that this person is striving for, his ideas on NATO, on future security policy, his presumptuous ideas on how to end the Russian-Ukrainian war (by Ukraine ceding territory to Russia, which would be sanctioned!) and in the long term also the associated future conflicts that are moving ever closer to Germany...all of this cannot go uncommented, as it will have a direct impact on the entire Western European region! Imagine if Canada attacked the US and took over individual states like Washington, Montana and Oregon, then suddenly the Chinese premier came along with a peace plan to end the war by the US simply giving up the states that were occupied! How would the MAGAs like that?

I always thought the Europeans were wiser, smarter and more free than the US, but apparently it's even worse now, as their governments have been taken over by gangsters, or are simply too afraid to speak-out. Worse yet, looks like their news outlets provide nothing but a flood of propaganda straight from the CIA, and no opposing views from other sides allowed. Europe has basically been forced into buying US weapons and fossil fuels, instead of getting cheap fuel from their eastern neighbor, and saving lots of money that's now wasted on weapons of war -- a war that was purposely provoked. So now a specific group of western capitalists are dancing with joy as their profits from wars and energy soar, while the general population, both European and U.S., are getting totally screwed.

Are you aware of the Budapest Memorandum? After the breakup of the Soviet union, there was pact between Ukraine, Russia, the US and UK. Ukraine relinquished all their nuclear weapons (4th largest arsenal in the world), and destroyed their strategic bombers. In return, the US and UK would promise their support in the event of an Invasion. This was agreed upon by Russia, and now the US and UK are obligated to help.
The Russian invasion has leveled every town and city touched, and they continue long-range strikes on critical civilian infrastructure, during the onset of winter, putting millions out. The Russian invasion has generated over 8 million refugees, creating a refugee crisis in Europe that hasn't been seen since WWII, as well as a world-wide food shortage. The United Nations has imposed the harshest of international sanctions. The ICC has labeled it war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Russia is the first in history to use an ICBM over a live city.
Are you telling me, this is all justifiable?

I need to be really careful - I've had my hands slapped more than once due to my - let's just say "emphatic views" on the present American political scene...
In a few short weeks we will bid farewell to an administration that has brought us out of a deep pit of negativity, promoted good health of its citizens, economy, and world relations. And done so in a respectful and professional manner.
We had a chance to continue, and truly make America "great." But instead we chose a "leader" who:
Is a traitor who tried his best to overthrow a legally elected Government, and physically attacked our nation's Capitol.
Is a convicted criminal with 34 FELONY convictions.
Is a habitual and chronic liar.
Has threatened repeatedly to cut Social Security and Healthcare.
Continues to threaten even American Citizens with "mass deportations."
Threatened repeatedly to "imprison" any who dare to disagree with his policies.
Threatened to disband the F.B.I. and other upholders of American Security and / or Law Enforcement.
Threatened to "radically change" the American voting / election systems.
I could go on and on...
Good job, America. Way to go. Enjoy our new dictator.
Brilliant artwork and write-up!

Hear, hear! Thanks for your input.
Something interesting: In Trump's last interview, he said that the price of eggs was the reason why he won the election. However, the reason why they skyrocketed was repressed; bird-flu has been decimating the hen laying population over the last two years. Crops in the mid-west were also stricken with a wide-spread disease, and they've have a poor harvest. Right after the election, it was brought to light. The price of fucking eggs. I think there is need for the Dept. of Education to update the curriculum, and to include social media awareness. But it's too late; Trump has already vowed to dismantle the Dept. of Education.

Agree with Rod - nothing good will come of this election! The USA used to be the opinion leader of the free western world, at least that's how they always saw themselves. Now they are to be subjected to the dictates of a narcissist, or rather the American people have risked their democracy for a loudmouth with no manners, no style and no perspective whatsoever. He will be just as unpredictable, petty and vindictive during his second term as he was during his first, that's for sure! The Trump-Musk connection will not last long either. Musk wants to do business, Trump wants sanctions against China, for example. In the end, it will all come crashing down and Musk will lose his permanent grin...and so will the rest of Republican America. But you get what you ordered - no exchanges!

Hear, hear! 15 billionaires were chosen for his cabinet. It's the rise of the American Oligarchy. I'm not afraid of anything, but I fear for our children's, children's, children.

And yet that horrific, destructive, wasteful war erupted under Biden's people! And worse than that, your news sources are suppressing the full truth -- that the US-UK crossed every red-line and broke every promise with Russia on purpose, knowing that Russia will not stand for Ukraine to be weaponized by US capitalists for the sole purpose to further destroy Russia and be turned into some puppet colony run by gangsters, sort of like many countries south of the US border.
The Ukraine war could have been easily avoided at several points in time simply by US sticking to original promises.
And most importantly, ask yourself who's the only one that's hugely profiting from this horrific carnage? Care to guess?

Russia has a long history of breaking treaties and agreements, such as the INF treaty. I'm done with you.

Why do I get the impression that somebody's "news sources" are indeed suppressing the "full truth" and blathering nothing but propaganda... And it's NOT the CIA. Sounds more like the old KGB.
