Description
Two Mig-21 PFM fighters of the Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) patrolling the skies of North Vietnam.
Although they were numerically outnumbered, these Mig pilots used their advantages to great effect. They employed ground controllers and early warning radar for threats and typically attacked when enemy bombs had been deployed and were low on fuel. The frequent tactic was to make a single pass at the enemy fighters at high speed and then head for a safe airfield to re-arm and head back to the sky. Since they were over friendly territory, this tactic allowed their quick turn-around to the action.
