Native Lines - An Exploration Of Inversed Preconcepts
"I don't about most folks Ayiana, them gonna look at you and see nothing but a Little Red, they ain't gonna like you. Some might even try an kill you, just because you was born in the plains and not some dusty town. But I don't see that Ayiana, when I look at you I just see a little girl, no different to any other and I ain't gonna let those folk harm you in any way. You drive me all kinds of crazy but I won't let anything happen to you and the safest place for you right now is with me. Don't worry though, I'm sure we can find somewhere or someone who will take you in" Taddy - Native Lines - Excerpt
2024 started with a flow of energy that was uncomprehended by me in any way shape or form as on New Years day 2024 the concept for a new story was born.
The concept started off pretty simply "What if a cowboy stumbled across a native American child?" and grew from there into an entirely new realm and direction for a historical world.
The story centers around Taddy, a Oklahoman cowboy who stumbles upon the aftermath of an attack on a native American tribe and discovers Ayiana, a young girl has survived. Rather than leaving her to fend for herself, Taddy decides to take Ayiana with him and the story focuses on how Taddy attempts to find a safe home beyond the plains of Oklahoma for Ayiana.
Unusually for me this story is also bolted to an exact year, normally I avoid this to allow myself some degree of flex and freedom but in this instance I wanted to focus on a moment in time where so much unrest was present and I do have a soft spot for a cowboy story.
Whilst I haven't made as much progress with this a I had wished in 2024 and I need to make Taddy again as I lost him somehow during my computer move at the start of December. I have set out the majority of the framework for the story and finally modelled some slightly better hair for the horses for Blender (Note to self, Never Ever work with horses again!)
