Description
When I was a little kid, I read a magazine called Highlights for Children. One issue told the story of the man and the satyr. The story went something like this: A man and a satyr met one night deep in the forest. The man invited the satyr to share the warmth of his fire and some soup. As the soup was heating, the man cupped his hands and blew into them. The satyr asked why he had done this. “To warm my hands,” the man said. Then, as they prepared to eat their soup, the satyr saw the man blowing on his soup. Again, the satyr asked why he had done this. “To cool my soup,” the man said. The satyr nodded, then said, “What a strange creature is Man, who can blow hot and cold with the same breath.” Apparently the satyr had never heard of the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

I vaguely remember the Highlight magazines, but I do remember seeing them! Many moons ago... This is a great image, and an interesting story. I never thought about it, but it makes sense. Why we blow on stuff to make it either warmer or cooler. Interesting thought! Excellent work!

I remember highlights. And I think I remember that story. I don't know if I'd read it in the magazine or if it had been printed other places also. Nice job illustrating the story.

Very nice story and a good image for the story :) We also blow wounds to make them less hurt :) (Or maybe it is just me .. lol)
