Description
The next focus of interest for Polaris became the large dome that looked somewhat familiar.
She managed to sneak-in without trouble and what she saw only reinforced her recent discovery. There, in the center of the chamber, was an oversized statue of an alien similar to the previous one sitting in a throne, but this time surrounded by hundreds of living worshipers of nearly human appearance.
As her observations continued she noticed something else; the fear these people had for Vellari was even greater than the admiration. They would do anything for them as if their own lives had no meaning.
Polaris felt she wasn't getting the whole story and was hungry for more information, but where? Then she turned her eyes towards that magnificent palace up on the hill.

What an awesome scene Polaris discovered. I have to agree, the people worshiping look very human-like yet that statue looks like that of an alien. I wonder how we on Earth would feel if our God statues looked like it, would we worship them all the same? just something to think about...great job Max! :-)

I often wondered what a modern human would think if a real God showed up and had a totally different appearance than they expect. If they rejected him as a God that would mean that a human decides who God is, not God. Quite a predicament, huh?

At the condition they let her enter the palace. Not a 'god' I would meet anyway, specially not knowing what he eats for dinner. The numerous people around it give an idea of the size of all this amazing environment!

Thanks, Rod. Never heard of that amusing quote, but our world sure had some interesting history, and the future might get even more interesting.
