One of my favorite scenes from the movie. Have you ever seen the Hidebrandt bros version? It's killer! I like yours too, BTW
Apache2k
Very goog image and harmony but you might try to make the waves smaller? (Scale the water material higher)

Great work... Awe inspiring scene from movie. I agree with Apache2k, the waves are a bit overpowering.

this is very cool ideea and a great render, my only suggestion would by to soften the cliffs and statues a bit(theyre kinda sharp) otherwise, you pulled this off perfectly!

I don't think the cliffs and statues have to be softened as the following link shows that they are exactly right: http://members.fortunecity.com/gabriella66/lordofrings/fellowship/101.html

Having had a freelance contract with WETA, I know this frame pixel by pixel. It is a descent image, but please make it aware that the statues (and cliffsides), for one, 'look' like the real thing, because they were clipped from the real thing. I can tell it was probably added to the bryce environment, then sky lab came in and with just a few quick steps the clouds were created. the water is ok, but IF you want this image to blend well, the water detail (waves, ripples, reflections) must balance the cliffs and statues. Instead of using bryce clouds, since this is a still image, I would personally advice using your paint program for the mist. Lastly, the boats and whatever models are in them, are distracting. They don't compliment the attention afforded that the cliffs are showing. Perhaps more detailed boats, and characters (with paddles) would help round out the above suggestions. All in all, I see this as a nice image, yet it does need much work, and please make sure that you don't take credit for the statues and cliffs. (In the movie, the riverbank was real, yet the video of that was blended with a CG cliff and statues, and the 3 that worked on that scene, deserve to be complimented :), though I was not one of them.) As critical as this post was, I hope you view this as constructive.
