Oh the red is awesome!! Maybe masking the face might be even better . Using various red colors you can make it one with the (bloody/ vile) background. the composition itself looks good, leave it like that.

Thanks for the comment but there's a very good reason why the face is like that..in fact you could almost say there's a secret 'behind' this work. A fragment of reality which caught a memory and recreated it...how perceptive will you all be? :)

i can read "intrigue" - something sad happened. Pearl in greek is "Margaritas", Marguerite. This young woman is Marguerite and she is missing for some sad reason (just arguing)

JC, it's a complex and interesting idea but the answer lies in the image and then the title...;)

I see a connection to Vemeer here, but then I see all sorts of strange things! Lovely, intense composition.

Once again, you touch me deeply with this you make. Yours is a terrific gift. And a catharsis when you need some relief from your shadows from teh past .Hugs :)

This is beautiful, the expression on her face is very powerful. I like all the colors and textures, peppered with hanwriting, (perhaps letters). It is a very intriguing work.

It seems Bevchiron has got it. Vermeer is the key...enjoy ;)

Somehow reminds me on Fayum portraits!

Beautiful composition, Vermeer or not. She seems to look back at something lost forever.
