Well thought out terrain, IMO needs something added to sides of road as you already know.

Agree with Luc. This is a fanstic use of overlays, and you make it fit so well in the terrain (looking at the edges it just mixes perfectly), did you make some additional postwork at the edges? Keep the sun it is very good, maybe reduce the corona an you have a daylight moon :-) Excellent work!
