Description
It takes an iron fist to break a steel grip, and on this day, little Jules found one.
She had spotted him at the roadside diner—a man built like someone who had seen his share of fights, maybe even ended them. He was solid, unmoving. A force.
She tried signaling for help, but he didn’t react. When it was time to leave, panic pressed against her ribs. Outside, Julianna lashed out at the coach, tension bristling between them. Her voice was feeble, high-pitched, trembling, as she argued, desperation leaking through each word. His control tightened, his presence pressing down, suffocating.
When she thought all was lost, the man from the diner approached.
No words. No permission. No hesitation.
He didn’t ask—just reached for her, enclosing her tiny hand in his behemoth grip, a touch that should have terrified her. It didn’t. It was decided.
A single glance passed between the two men—final, unreadable.
Julianna didn’t look back. She could only pray the stranger carried even a shred of goodness.
But what mattered was that she had chosen escape—and for the first time, someone had let her take it.

Harsh face yet hopefully a decent heart. Time will tell.

I like the lite hand holding. It's not a grip or forced, it's gentle, which signifies a lot.
