I'd overlay it with a non-filtered varient to bring out the high points-- this is a very fine work, might be good to spend more time here. I think you could have a real gem.

This is amazing work just as it is, I don't know what queris problem is, the original figure was lit perfectly for the effects used and the overall effect is stunning...
