Description

Ships lie around like scattered toys, lights flickering, hulls breached. 75 years earlier the Sun collapsed leaving a massive spacial rift which opens into a parallel universe. Now deemed safe to enter the USS Dawnstar is sent in to search the system. In one of their sweeps they find a shuttle with 4 life signs. Apperently the last remaining crew from the past...or are they?

I'm not a big fan of trek related art, but I am a huge fan of good sci-fi art. And this definitely falls into the latter category. Terrific scene. Did you model all of the elements in this scene? How long did it take to render something this complex? How did you manage the tractor beam glow? Nice work.

I used a volumetric light in LW 7.5 to create the tractor beam. Unfortunatly I didn't make all the elements in the scene, the destroyed ships are from a game called Klingon Academy, thus the credit to interplay at the bottom.
