Nice work with the figure. Ground shadows seem a tad harsh, and the vegetation seems to spring up out of nowhere, though... maybe try putting a section of low grassy hills between the figure and the mountain? Anyway, it's looking good. Might wanna cut down the file size next time though -- I'm sure people with dial-up access won't be too happy downloading a 700 KB image ;)

This is a great piece of art. I see 2 great things. 1. The facial features of the figure is remarkably real. I admit it's difficult to come close to such details. 2. The environment is a piece of work. I admit the vegetation looks a bit odd, but when I look at it as a whole, I can see the meaning. What I believe to be said here is adventure; though I am not sure if that is the right word to describe it. To me it's like a combination of reality and escape in a unkown realm. Nice job.

Excellent overall. Quagnon is correct, the vegetation could be softer, and a touch of haze in the sky would add an overall softness and sense of depth to the image. Even so, truly lovely scene.

I was quick rendering a background on this including the vegetation. I really wanted to portray the character.
