Description

Hi everyone! Just trying out a light-dome for resemblance to real soft shadows. Hope you like it. ***___*** Tech details: 17 scattered radials set to middle gray, some postwork in Universe for the flare and Photoshop for color/saturation adjustment. ***___*** The gemstone is a free model by www.3dlapidary.com -- the website has all genres of gemstones and materials (although in this I applied mine) and explanations, they're beautiful, maybe you want to take a look. ***___*** Final note: This image was somewhat inspired by the works of *linkinpark*. If you want to see way better rings than this one, take a look at his gallery, it's awesome! ***___*** Have a nice sunday and many thanx for stopping by. As usual, any comment and/or criticism is more than welcome. --- Stefano ---

I always appreciate this kind of work, so let me try some comments : - did you remove ambient light? If yes it's OK - some strange reflections on the ring on the back. You should blur the reflections to try to remove them, or change the model for a primitive - to my opinion you should change the color of the wood material. The problem is that if you take a more darker wood it will kill the shadows. Difficult. One solution is to completely change the ground material. Sorry for so many suggestions , for a kind of render I like so much ;=)

Hmmm... forgot to mention: the strange shadows on the inner ring are actually a carving. It's a name, and it's intended to be undistinguishable (for personal reasons heheheh). :)

Great Macro work here! That is some of the best rendered marble I've ever seen.

Eccellente lavoro, Stefano. Congratulazioni. :o)

This is excellent, but for my personal tastes, I prefer the 2nd post of this image, the black and white one. Both are excellent, but you have appealed to my fancy and that is the B&W one.

whoa;) amazing.. really neat ring man, lighting is awesome too ... now small criticism:) i assume ring is either laying on the floor or table - in which case bars (on floor/table) itself seem to be of rings size - too small (*wonders if you understood what i ment) .. anyways kewl work:)
