They said I was OK, they said that they had performed a miracle. The interface had been a complete success, a total restoration of my brain's activity... From their scientific viewpoint, they were right, but when I looked in the mirror, when I touched an object or felt an emotion, it wasn't me that touched it, it wasn't me who felt it, it was the memory of the event, being passed along by a 3rd party, a computer lodged in my skull.
