Hello to everyone at the Renderosity community. If there is one place that I can say has helped me the most to better my understanding and ability with 3D art, Renderosity is it. As a whole, the community is quite friendly and, for the most part, helpful.
So, I would like to say thanx for all of the helpful suggestions, comments, ideas, and the freebies.
Bio: Well, I am not a professional artist. Actually, I am an engineer. I started in 3D by helping an associate with a work project in Bentleys MicroStation. I found it interesting and looked into other programs on the Macintosh platform. I experimented with Bryce, Poser, Infini-D, Amapi, and Cinema 4D. Currently, I use Poser to pose my human meshes, Cinema 4D to create, pose, and render meshes and scenes, and Photoshop for post-work.
I strongly suggest anyone just getting into 3D, or 2D, art to take a look through the tutorials on this site for great tips and ideas for your work. I have also found that other artists within the community are more than happy to answer questions, provide examples, offer suggestions, and share work with their peers. What can it hurt, drop them an IM or e-mail and ask.

Looking really good, can't wait to see it textured and in an action scene.

Looking very promising....good luck with the texturing!
madchem
Great! The only one thing is that the cannons seem to me too long, so too heavy and so out of balance. Anyway, really good model!

Great mesh, this sci-fi stuff isn't really my bag, but i can still appriciate a good model. NICE

Excellent model. I would agree with madchem that the length of the canons seem too long comparitively to the rest of the model. Good luck with the texturing, I'm sure it will look great.

Thanx for the comments and support guy/gals. The models is based on a Japanese Animation destoit called the Monster. It is typical for the style of animation to over exaggerate some part or idea of an item. For this mecha it is the size of the cannons. (And the feet! What size sho is that?) Anyway, thanx again for the comments. -Les

cool, very cool image. I agree that the cannons look a little out of place - a bit too long. But I think if you were to bulk / thiken the ends up a little it would make all the difference. I have not posted any cinema for months, but feel inspired now. cheers!

I can only agree with all the others and be curious about the image with all textures on it... great done!!! ThanX for posting! ~{o;)

The VF-1 Veritech "Valkyrie" needs to be a little bigger. There's an episode where Khyron rides on top of a MAC-II and he is 40-45 feet tall. A MAC-II is around 70ft tall and a Veritech is around 40ft tall. Go to http://www.kent.net/robotech/ to get more exact hights. It's a great render though. Keep up the good work. I'd love to see an Alpha fighter.
