Gallery Notes:
(1) To view my entire gallery, click on the link to "SmithGiant's Gallery" immediately below the Featured Gallery Images below.
(2) Policies regarding access to artists galleries may require you to create a log-on ID. As a long time member of the Renderosity community, I have found no evidence that Renderosity releases or sells members email to outside entities.BIOWhile it seems that I've been an "artsy-fartsy" kind of person all my life, it wasn't until 1995 that I decided to purchase a computer and teach myself how to use it as a "creative tool".
I opened a website called "Thinkpieces" in June 1997, and was forced to closed it June 2000 due to it's popularity and resultant, prohibitive data transfer cost.
While most of my work can be classified as "abstract/fractal illustrations", and it may seem that all I know how to, or do use is XenoDream, I promise that you won't be wasting (too much of) your time should you choose to browse my gallery here at Renderosity. I have tried to select work that I've not only done in XenoDream, but other software such as Bryce, Photoshop, UF, and KPT.
I appreciate you taking the time to visit, and encourage all forms of feedback.
Links & Resources:
Fractal World: A Yahoo Group I started in 2000 to give folks a place to hang/share their fractals.
KPT FraxFlame Presets: This link will take you to the FILES Section at Fractal World where you'll find individually zipped files each containing three KPT FraxFlame Preset libraries. Each library contains 24 individual presets. These presets can be used in KPT 5 or KPT Effects/X.
XenoDreamers: A (no attachment) Yahoo Group for folks interested in Xenodream.
XenoDream Pix: An (attachment allowed) Yahoo Group where folks share their XD work.
XenoDream Website: Where you can learn more about XenoDream, purchase and download it online.
Note: While the two following resource links will take you different locations, the resources are the same at both locations.
XenoDream Resource Location 1: This will take you to the FILES section at the XenoDreamers Group. Look for and click on the FOLDER entitled "Bryan's Stuff" (aka smithgiant). Inside the folder you will find a variety of tutorials and resource (xep) files that you can download, study and use.
XenoDream Resource Location 2: This will take you to the FILES section at the XenoDream Pix Group. Look for and click on the FOLDER entitled "Bryan's Stuff" (aka smithgiant). Inside the folder you will find a variety of tutorials and resource (xep) files that you can download, study and use.

I'm viewing this on another monitor. I smashed the screen on the first one as I swatted what I thought was a giant bug on it. You sure fooled me.

Note: I am posting this note as others might have the same/similar question. (1) On whether this object could been given a "glassy look"--yes it could, and I did apply some "glassy look" lighting presets, but when applied to the entire object, they caused much of the surface detail to be lost. An alternative method could have been to use the "Regions" feature, which allows different lighting applications to different regions of the fractal. And, because I don't know how to use this feature all that well, I didn't. (2) As to posting or offering the source/data (*.xep) file for inspection by others. As a long time beta tester for XD, I tried opening the file up in the latest released version, and I must have used some "beta feature" as the file wouldn't open properly. I think I used one beta Metamorph. I apologize and think it might be better if I start including the fact that I'm using a beta version.
