Description

Added a few scars and bullet holes to round out the texturing. It is hard to tell in this small image, but the original render was 3200x2400 and it is easy to see that the nose art girl took a round in the head. Give me some feedback so I know what I can fix on the next project. Thanx I modeled, posed, and rendered this guy in C4D XL 6.3. I used this mech as a means to learn boning. Yuck!

VERY good. Especially considering the fact that you're using v6.3... Most impressive. However... ;-). If the mech is really supposed to be battle hardened, you should add more dirt. Like at the end of the barrels, I'd expect a lot of dirt and blackened metal. Just a thought. Very good. :-)

Very good texturing, the model looks like a 23th century battletank or something, a bit manga style. Very good!

Looks really good! I might add a bit more detail to the ends of the top gun barrels - looks a bit too smooth - I don't know maybe some black residue? Or even bevel the tip polys out a bit? Maybe you could mix in some more noise to break up the dirt... But it's a great model, and a great render!

perfect modelling and perfect texturing. You can do nothing better, but you could embed the Mechroboter into a scene ;-)

2 points: maybe some rust around the ends of the guns and cannons, and the WWII type girl logo could be a bit more dity/scratchy. But hey its a really nice mesh. Try it with the fake GI plugin, i think its called "50 grey". Great work.

Very sharp render, great details, but why boning on a machine? I think boning is usefull for organics, cause of the needed gum-effekt on the flesh, but that don't happen on metal :-) And, as I took a sekond look, I think the gun-pipes (right words?) are a bit to thin, I mean, they should have thicker metal, they seem to break when a bullet runs thrue them (sorry for my bad English) - and I know (as a old soldier) that there must be something special at the end of the gun-pipe 8really don't know the word, but it's to stop the flames coming out to hide the gun in the darkness, know what I mean?) This render is to good to lose in such small details :-)

Thanx for all of the comments guys/gals. I worked pretty hard on this one. I think it is pretty good for an amature. As for why boning. Well, I wasn't sure what it was used for until after I did it. Like I said, I learned about it during the creation of this model and what it is suppose to be used for, and what it "isn't". Again, thanx for the kind comments. -Les

Wow! That is one awesome rendering of a 'Monster'. Heh, just imagine putting a person to scale... They would maybe reach the toe... The cockpit has enough room for three guys inside and this thing is truly massive... Great Macross render there. Please, please, please hook us up with a download link for a bigger version! I want to use it as a wallpaper but I run 1600x1200 resolution...
