Description

::: Part 17 of a series of Warbird Panorama Photos ::: Special WW2 Infantry Panorama. Taken at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California (at the Chino Airport) on February 1st, 2003. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Be sure to visit the famous "Planes of Fame Airshow 2003" on May 17th and 18th! --- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This shot was taken after a medium scale reenactment of a battle in Europe during World War 2. The reenactors are all from the California Historical Society and have historically accurate costumes down to the money they carry and undergarments they have on! The tank to the far left is a M4A1 Sherman Tank (working). In the background, to the left, you can make out the silver fuselage of a Boeing B-50 (B-29 Variant) that made a flight around the world non-stop. Each rifle is operational and fires propaine blanks (they make the same sound as live ammunition would and the blanks create the fire flash). The Sherman can fire it's large gun as well as some mini guns. Those guns fire propaine blanks as well. The main cannon (VERY LOUD!) shoots out what looks like a 3 foot long flame when fired. To the far left middle edge, you can make out the arm of the 17 German soldiers who pinned the US infantry down until the Sherman arrived. Camera is a digital Toshiba PDRM-5 (2.15 MP). Image was resized from 5436x1343. Please note that there are some mistakes in the stitching due to the fact that the camera's lens is not dead center to the rotation point on the tripod. - Comments/Questions are Welcome -

Does my heart good to see this. Especially here. For reasons I won't go into. Interesting detail about the money and the underwear. I usually try to take panorama shots by moving straight sideways, but the sky tones don't match up when I do the stitching by computer. I probably don't know what I'm doing. :-)

When your skytones don't match it's usually due to difference in exposure time, at least that's my experience. Try using a fixed exposure time. When using a zoomlens and using the widest setting you can get darker corners so it's best not to do that :)

Thankfuly thus far the sky tones have blended pretty well for me. this one was tricky as the shadow of the hanger to the right was blowing out the sky with the entire left side properly exposed. I was afraid it would be a bad seam, but it seemed to blend quite nicely!
