To get to Mars we can accept the delicate delightful pull of Venus and then slingshot under the stormy nightmare of huge Jupiter and the red spot. It may take too long for manned expeditions. The direct way subjects everyone to a lot of 'g's" and is expensive in terms of rocket thrust when the fixed payload of a manned capsule is the objective form. With thrust comes vibration and the total "jiggle room" when you land and the silence of Mars is reached. Some how you just have to come to terms with the ones you are sleeping with. What about the jiggle, the verve, the agility? Isn't there a smoother there?
